The faculty will explain the recent JPML court hearing that may set the future path for transvaginal surgical mesh lawsuits around the nation. Beginning with a history of product defect of Mentor ObTape Vaginal Sling, this teleseminar will provide a sphere of information surrounding this litigation topic, as well as an update on transvaginal mesh.
Background
Filed in November 2011 with the U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation (JPML), on behalf of women who claim to have suffered injuries after being implanted with vaginal mesh products for the treatment of pelvic organ prolapse and stress urinary incontinence, the plaintiffs asked for the JPML to create separate multidistrict litigation (MDL) cases against three different transvaginal mesh manufacturers.
