The Potts Law Firm Doubles Footprint in Greenway Plaza Area

Houston-based Potts Law Firm plans to move into a new Houston office more than double the size of its current one with plans to double its lawyer count.

Potts, currently located at 100 Waugh Dr., expects to move into 19,000 square feet at 3737 Buffalo Speedway in the next 60 days, Derek H. Potts, founder, and managing partner, told the Houston Business Journal. Additionally, Potts Law Firm has rights to an additional 5,000 square feet at the new location, which is in the Greenway Plaza area. The building, developed by PM Realty Group, was one of the most recent editions to the Greenway Plaza area, opening in October 2015.

“We established a satellite office in Houston in 2011 with one lawyer. It was based in Kansas City, Missouri,” Potts told the HBJ. “We’ve seen exponential growth ever since. We’ve outgrown that, and now we’re looking to find a permanent home with some room to grow.”

The space is being designed by IA Interior Architects and D.E. Harvey Construction is the general contractor. The build-out of the office space will cost $1.65 million, according to building permits filed with the city. Potts Law firm used Amanda Fox of Fox Properties to find the space, Potts said.

The firm has 17 lawyers in Houston, five in Kansas City, and one in Little Rock. Since opening the office in Houston, Potts Law Firm has made the Bayou City its main office. With the new space, Potts expects to grow the number of lawyers to between 30 and 40 in the coming years.
